The mainstay of Ford's SUV line seats seven and is offered in four trim lines, the base Explorer, XLT, Limited and Sport. Standard across all trim lines is Trailer Sway Control, Hill Start Assist, Electronic Power Assist Steering, an air filtration system, rear auxiliary climate control, cargo hooks, and four 12V power points, two in the first row, one in the second, and one in the cargo area. The Explorer trim line comes standard with a 3.5L Ti-VCT V-6 engine with 6-speed automatic transmission and includes AdvanceTrac with RSC, MyKey, and 18-inch painted aluminum wheels. A 2.0L EcoBoost engine is optional.
The Explorer XLT comes with a leather-wrapped steering wheel with cruise control, 5-way controls and secondary audio controls, Reverse Sensing System, heavy-duty front and rear brake calipers, gloss black mirrors, heated with security approach lamps and turn signal indicators, SiriusXM Satellite Radio, 6-way power driver and passenger front seats and 18-inch painted aluminum wheels. It is equipped with a 3.5L Ti-VCT V-6 engine with 6-speed automatic transmission, A 2.0L EcoBoost engine is optional.
The Limited trim line adds leather-trimmed seating surfaces, Sony 12-speaker stereo system, Intelligent Access with Push Button Start, rear view camera, 20-inch sparkle nickel painted aluminum wheels, dual-zone electronic temperature control, remote start system and body-colored, heated, memory, power fold mirrors with security approach lamps and turn signal indicators. Engine choices include a 3.5L Ti-VCT V-6 engine with 6-speed automatic transmission or a 2.0L EcoBoost engine.
